Assemblies of God Foundation donors are known for their generosity and passion for spreading the gospel message around the world. This passion was revealed most recently when Don Headlee, executive vice president of AGFinancial, met with Greg Mundis, executive director of Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM), to deliver a special surprise—$783,928.89 for missions.
"I was ecstatic and so encouraged," said Mundis. "Of the total, $400,000 was designated for our Unreached Peoples Fund. A primary focus of our work continues to be reaching those who have never heard about Jesus."
He continued, "This is the heartbeat of God, and these funds are crucial to the need."
Making inroads into unreached people groups is just one of the many tasks AGWM missionaries face on a daily basis, often with few resources. "It's difficult to have God place something on your heart, but not have the funding to make it happen," said Mundis. "For us, it's an exercise in patience and faith in God's provision. Today I got to witness that provision, and it's going to increase the faith of the missionaries who will use it."
In addition to the Unreached Peoples Fund, missions in Greece, Cambodia, and Northern Asia were funded. Mundis recalls, "I told Don, 'You have no idea what this means.' And now I get to share this news with our Northern Asia regional director and say, 'You know how we've been praying that God would provide funds? It's taken care of!'"
"Getting to hand deliver gifts like this is one of my favorite things to do," said Headlee. "We have the opportunity to deliver many of these types of gifts, and it never gets old. Seeing the generosity of people on a daily basis is an incredible privilege for our Planned Giving team."
Although donors may not always get to see the fruit of their generosity during their lifetime, its impact is undeniable. "One thing I want people to understand is that regardless of the amount of the gift, we have the ability to maximize its Kingdom impact through the planned giving tools we provide," Headlee remarked. "So what may seem like a modest gift at first is invested so that its impact for ministry is multiplied. It's a beautiful way to give."
"On behalf of our missionaries, I want to thank the AG Foundation donors," stated Mundis. "Because of your generosity, your love for Jesus, and your heart for missions, people who would otherwise never hear the message of salvation will now receive a gospel witness. Because of you, there will be more people in heaven."
AGWM remains a leading recipient of funds distributed through AG Foundation, receiving almost $30 million over the last 10 years from planned gifts such as Donor Advised Funds, Charitable Gift Annuities, and Charitable Remainder Trusts.
